Write and edit blocks
Blocks live on a cube’s Blocks tab. Each one is a full-screen card.
Add a block
Section titled “Add a block”On the Blocks tab, choose Add Block, pick a type, and write it. Nothing here is visible to customers until it is both on a version and published, so you can draft freely.
To add the same block to several cubes at once, select them in the cube list and choose Add block. It is placed on each language version that cube already has. Add & Publish makes it live; Add as draft leaves it unpublished. Cubes that already have that block type are skipped unless you turn that off.
To reuse blocks from another cube, choose Copy from Cube in the same picker.
Alignment, colour, and gallery options you leave unset follow Block defaults for this Space.

Form appears once Rubikc form emailer, Email SMTP, or Slack is connected in Integrations, because that is where submissions are sent. Newsletter sends the address to Klaviyo or Omnisend. On the block, choose that connection and the Klaviyo list or Omnisend tag the signup should join. A Discount code that already exists in Shopify appears on the card after someone subscribes, so they can copy it or apply it to the cart. Leave it empty to show only the thank-you. An optional Image fills the top of the card above the title, and the title and description keep the line breaks you type. Show consent fine print adds a short consent under the form, using your Space name. Fine print replaces that text, and can include links.
Surveys and generated blocks, such as the add-to-cart hint, are not written here — you add them on the Versions tab. See What goes on a Version.
Pick by what the card should do, not by what you happen to have. A few worth knowing:
- Main feed item is built for the first position: the card that represents the cube in the Feed. With Cover chosen, turn on Crop image to pick the part of the image the card shows. Crop shows the image with a bright window for the part a phone shows: drag it, scroll over the picture to zoom, and use Zoom to fill the card with less of the image. Wider screens show more of the image around the same point. Crop is off until you turn it on. Image blocks have the same switch. A main feed item with a video has no crop, because the image is only the video’s poster.
- Cube promotion promotes other cubes. Choose individual cubes — up to four fit on one screen, and more page sideways — or a whole collection, which shows a few of its product images and a button that opens it. Each cube can keep its own image, or use Override image on that row to show a different one. Tile bg and Tile text set that tile’s colours. Add to cart from tiles makes a tap on a product tile add that product. Read more shows when one cube is promoted and opens that cube, including when add to cart is on.
- Cube preview shows the first card of another cube in place. Tapping or swiping opens the rest of that cube.
- Gallery holds several images or videos that shoppers swipe through sideways. Enable full-screen gallery fills the screen and puts the title and captions on the image. With it off, the title and caption sit in a panel at the bottom that shoppers pull up, or tap, to read the description. Blurred image background fills the space around the image; turn it off to show the block’s background. When the gallery is the cube’s first card in the Feed, the title and caption sit on the image, and the description shows once the cube is opened.
- Video can credit its source: choose the platform, enter the creator’s handle, and optionally link the original post. The handle appears in the corner of the video.
- Accordion is a list of rows. Each row opens a dialog. Drag a row by the grip to change its place in the list. The optional title above the rows, and the row headings, each have their own alignment and colour. Every row heading uses that same alignment and colour. The dialog has its own alignment, background and text colour, shared by every row.
- Product features is a few promises — shipping, materials, care. Each row has an Icon, a Text label, and optional Explanatory Text. Pick the icon from the library on the Icon tab, or use your own image on the Image tab.
- Judge.me reviews shows this product’s reviews. A bundle also shows each product in the bundle, and each review names that product. With no reviews, the block says so. From 10 reviews the first slide is a summary of the average and the star ratings; from 20, shoppers can filter positive or critical reviews, or one star rating. Custom summary replaces that slide with your own text, and shows even with fewer reviews. Turn off Show summary cover to open on the reviews.
Where blocks come from
Section titled “Where blocks come from”A block records its origin — written by hand, generated, or imported from Shopify, Instagram, Google Drive or another connected system. Useful when you are working out why something looks the way it does.
Editing
Section titled “Editing”Select a block’s row on the Blocks tab to open it. See Blocks tab for the other actions on the row.
Editing a block that is already live does not change the storefront until you publish it again. Until then, customers keep seeing the previously published content.
To go back to an earlier draft, open the block’s Block history and choose Restore as draft. Customers still see the published content until you publish.
Language
Section titled “Language”When you add a block, choose the language it is written in, or Language-agnostic for a block that works in every language. Images and video default to language-agnostic, so the same picture can go on every language’s version. A block written for one language is not available in another.

Several blocks at once
Section titled “Several blocks at once”Tick blocks on the Blocks tab to Publish Selected, Delete Selected, or Edit settings for all of them together. Filter by type, such as main feed item, to bring those blocks together first.
Edit settings needs two or more blocks of the same type. Check the settings you want to change and set the new value. Settings you leave unchecked stay as they are on each block. On image blocks and main feed items, Change image replaces the picture. Choose a file or paste an image URL the same way you do when editing one block. Linked or shared blocks cannot be edited this way. The change stays a draft until you publish the blocks.
