Checkout and customer accounts

Checkout and customer accounts stay on Shopify. Both are configured in Integrations: open the connected Shopify integration to see its settings. Only an owner or admin can change them.

Checkout root domain is the hostname Shopify serves checkout from — for example checkout.yourstore.com, without https://. It lets a shopper’s cookie consent in your Space carry over to checkout.

Leave it empty if you do not need consent carried over yet. If it is set, it has to match your Shopify setup — a mismatch typically shows up as consent behaving oddly at checkout.

When your Space is the storefront customers shop on, they still need somewhere to sign in, see orders and manage subscriptions.

Turn on Show Account in navigation to add an Account link as the last item in your menu. It opens Shopify’s login and Shopify-hosted account pages. Checkout, account and order-status pages all stay on Shopify.

If customers manage subscriptions somewhere else, leave Account off and set a Subscription portal URL instead. See Subscriptions.

A link that opens a Shopify cart opens your Space instead. Products listed on the link are added to the cart and the cart opens. A discount code on the link is applied, and a country on the link is the country the cart uses.

A Shopify discount link opens your Space and applies the code to the cart. /discount/SUMMER?redirect=/products/tote lands on that product. A language prefix works the same way, for example /fi/discount/SUMMER. Tags on the link, such as the ones an ad adds, stay on the page. A code Shopify does not accept still opens the page, and the cart shows it as not applicable.

Turn on Show store policies in navigation to add a Policies folder after your own menu items. Each policy configured in Shopify opens as its own page. Policies Shopify has not set are left out. When Account is also on, the Account link stays the last item.
