Filters

Filters let shoppers narrow your feed, and they work on every kind of cube: Colour on products, Season on articles, Topic on videos. A Shopify catalogue can bring in dozens of filters, and most are not worth showing. Structure › Filters is where you choose the few that are, and group them — Fit, Look, Material — much as you arrange a menu in Navigation.

Filters that are not in a group are off. Sync at the top brings in categories and filters from your integration, Categories opens the kinds of cube behind the Category filter, and New filter creates your own.

Turn on Show on storefront at the top of Structure › Filters, then Save. Your storefront shows a bar of your groups under the header. Shoppers choose a group to pick values, set a price range or switch on In stock, then Show results, which applies them. Reset clears that group’s choices in the sheet. For you, first in the bar, clears every group at once.

Shoppers see filter, value and group names in the storefront’s language. See Names in other languages.

While filters are set, the feed shows only cubes that match. Any cube matches the values and category it has. Price, In stock, On sale and Brand need a product, so only cubes with one match them. Pinned cubes and your home cube are left out until filters are cleared. Filter values and categories only appear once at least one cube has them.

Every Space has five built-in filters, so there is nothing to link. Category works on any cube. The other four come from product data, so they only match cubes with a product.

Filter What it does
Price Shoppers choose a price range. It uses the price shown in their market, in their currency.
In stock Only products with a variant in stock.
On sale Only products whose compare-at price is above their price, in the shopper’s market.
Brand Brands come from the vendor on your products and update on their own.
Category One value per category. Picking a category also shows the cubes in the categories below it.

You can rename or hide built-in filters, brands and categories like any other, and add them to a group to turn them on. Built-in filter names are already translated; see Names in other languages. On the storefront, Category is listed as a tree. A category with no products of its own and only one category below it is skipped, so Apparel › Clothing › Outerwear shows as Outerwear.

On a Bókun Space, Brand is the experience’s supplier, and a discounted experience shows as on sale.

A built-in filter only shows on your storefront when it can narrow the feed. In stock is left out when everything is in stock (Bókun experiences are always bookable), On sale when nothing is on sale, Brand when there’s only one brand, Category when your products share one category, and Price when your products share one price.

Available, on a Bókun Space, is separate from In stock. It lists today, tomorrow, and the weekday for each of the five days after that, for experiences that can be booked then. Add it to a group the same way as Activity or City. It stays current while Available days is on in Automations.

  1. Open Structure › Filters. The left side lists every filter, most used first, with how many cubes have a value for it.

  2. Choose Add next to a filter. With no groups yet, this starts one. With more than one group, pick which group, or New group.

  3. Name each group, for example Fit. Drag filters to reorder them or to move them to another group. Move filter does the same without dragging.

  4. Choose Save. Until you do, Unsaved changes shows next to it.

A filter can be in one group at a time. Drag the handle on a group to change the order of groups.

Choose New filter at the top of Structure › Filters, give it a name such as Season, enter its values one per line, and choose Create. Then:

A filter you create here is not tied to a category. To list it under a category, open that category and choose Add filter.

A filter offers all its values by default. To narrow it, choose All values on the filter in its group, pick the values shoppers should see, and choose Apply. Pick none to go back to every value.

To rename a filter or a value, or to hide one everywhere, choose the filter in the left-hand list. See Categories.

If your Space has more than one language, give each group a name in every language. Choose the languages icon next to a group’s name and fill in the other languages, then Save. A language you leave blank shows the group’s main name.

Filter and value names work the same way; see Categories.
