Shared blocks
A shared block lives in one place and appears in as many cubes as you like.
The list
Section titled “The list”Every shared block in your Space, with Name, Type, Suggested For, Tags and Language. From here you create, edit and delete them. Search finds a shared block by its name, type or tags.
Suggested For limits which kinds of cube a shared block is offered for — product, home or general. Leave it as All types and the block appears in every cube’s library; set it and the block is only suggested where it makes sense. Useful once you have enough shared blocks that the library gets long.
Adding one to a cube
Section titled “Adding one to a cube”Shared blocks appear in the block library on a cube’s Versions tab, alongside that cube’s own blocks.
A block that already lives on one cube can be promoted from that cube’s Blocks tab. See Promote a cube block.
Editing
Section titled “Editing”Use View usage to see where a block is used before changing it. Shared blocks have no unpublished state, so an edit goes live wherever the block is placed.
Deleting
Section titled “Deleting”Deleting a shared block cannot be undone. It disappears from every cube using it, leaving an Unavailable item on those Versions. Remove it from cubes first if you want a clean result.
