Reuse a Block across Cubes
A shared block is content that lives in one place and appears in many cubes. Edit it once and every cube using it changes.
When to use one
Section titled “When to use one”Good candidates are things that are genuinely the same everywhere and change occasionally:
- A shipping or returns promise.
- A newsletter signup.
- A seasonal campaign card you want on many products.
- A survey you are running across the storefront.
If the content should differ per cube even slightly, do not share it — copy it instead.
Create one
Section titled “Create one”-
Open Shared blocks in Admin.
-
Create the block and write its content.
-
In any cube, add it from the block library on the Versions tab.
Editing affects everywhere
Section titled “Editing affects everywhere”That is the point of them, and it is also the risk. A shared block on fifty cubes is a fast way to update fifty cubes and a fast way to break them.
Removing one
Section titled “Removing one”Removing a shared block from a cube affects only that cube. Deleting the shared block itself affects all of them.
