Sync and transform your content
Setup does this in two parts, and it helps to know why. Syncing copies your products into Rubikc. Transforming turns what arrived into cubes people can swipe through.
Your store details
Section titled “Your store details”Setup starts by reading your current store’s site — the address your Shopify store uses — and suggesting your store’s name, description, customer service email and phone, address and social links. These are the same details as Settings › General, and shoppers and search engines see them.
Check them and fix anything that’s off. If Rubikc read the wrong site, change the address under Your current store and choose Read again. When the details look right, choose Looks right, import my products. Rubikc also looks at that site for your logo and favicon.
Before the import starts, Rubikc turns on every language your Shopify store publishes, so cubes are built in all of them. You can review that choice later from Get started — see Languages and markets.
Sync your products
Section titled “Sync your products”The sync pulls your products out of Shopify and into your Space. Collections, pages and blog posts are left for later, so the first import stays quick — bring them in from Import more content on the Get started page.
Nothing is live at this point, and nothing in Shopify changes. A sync only brings data in — which is what makes it safe to run whenever you like.
It runs in the background, so you can leave the page and come back.
Choose how products become cubes
Section titled “Choose how products become cubes”When the import finishes, Rubikc turns one of your products into a cube and shows it next to the transform settings. Swipe through the preview with Previous and Next.
The defaults are chosen to give a sensible storefront without any tuning, so many merchants change nothing here. If something looks off, change it and choose Update preview with new settings. Example product lets you try a different product; its images are the ones you choose from when a setting picks an image.
The settings you choose are saved as your defaults for products, so later imports use them too. They live under Settings › Transforms.
Create the cubes
Section titled “Create the cubes”Create cubes for all products starts the transform. It builds a cube per product, with a card for the Feed and the detail behind it. Setup does this for up to 30 products; the rest wait in Sources, where you can turn them into cubes whenever you like.
When it finishes, Rubikc brings in your favicon and logo from your store where it can. Check both when you set your brand. Setup leaves the menu empty; Set up navigation on the Get started list is where you build it.
Setup is done. Now go and look at what it built.
