Sync and transform your content
These are two separate onboarding steps, and it helps to know why. Syncing copies your catalogue into Rubikc. Transforming turns what arrived into cubes people can swipe through.
Sync your catalogue
Section titled “Sync your catalogue”The sync pulls your products, collections and content out of Shopify and into your Space.
Nothing is live at this point, and nothing in Shopify changes. A sync only brings data in — which is what makes it safe to run whenever you like.
A large catalogue takes a while. It runs in the background, so you can leave the page and come back.
Transform it into cubes
Section titled “Transform it into cubes”The transform reads what you synced and builds cubes and blocks from it: a cube per product, with a card for the Feed and the detail behind it.
Before it runs, you get choices about what gets built. Run it with the settings as they are the first time. The defaults are chosen to give a sensible storefront without any tuning, and it is much easier to judge what you want changed once you can see something real.
Invite your team
Section titled “Invite your team”The next step offers to bring in colleagues. You can skip it and do it any time from Organization and members.
Optional: bring in an AI agent
Section titled “Optional: bring in an AI agent”The last step before onboarding completes offers to connect an AI agent — Claude, Cursor or Codex — to help with brand and content work.
It is genuinely optional and skipping it costs you nothing. If you would rather decide later, Agents covers what one can do for you and how to connect it safely.
Onboarding is done. Now go and look at what it built.
